Hello!
My name is Lacey Daniel. This website, initiated by my capstone for my Masters in Education Technology, will be used to showcase my hard work and growth in my professional and educational careers.
My current profession title is Instructional Designer. I work for a charter school management company called National Heritage Academies (NHA). My audience is typically teachers, deans or employees of the service center. I consult Subject Matter Experts (SME's) on the best training avenue for their content. Sometimes it may be a simple handout, a webinar, face to face facilitation or more often an eLearning module. After consultation I am solely responsible for developing the course from start to finish.
Educationally my background started at Grand Rapids Community College where I earned my Associates in Liberal Arts in 2009. I immediately pursued my Bachelors in Network Security and Biometrics. Yes it sounds like I would be an awesome hacker or never need to call tech support buuuuut I am not. I found out very late in the game that I was not at all interested in the professional life that my degree would provide me. As most of the professionals in my field I fell into the world of training and it was a perfect vehicle for all of my skills. I then decided to pursue my Masters in Educational Technology at Michigan State University. I have really enjoyed the journey that this degree has taken me on. I have learned many things about myself and pushed myself to a new level. I am very excited to graduate in the Spring 0f 2014 and hang my lovely degree in my office.
