About Me
I am currently an Instructional Designer, which means I create and modify eLearning. In my case I work with corporate training.
You may be asking yourself, how does someone become an Instructional Designer? Well most of my peers have fell into corporate training. Very rarely do you find a college student seeking our positions. I always considered teaching for a living but...I am not hugely fond of children. I could not imagine spending hours let alone years with them. I would eventually like to work my way to teaching collegiate level courses but until then I will stick to my introvert-friendly, tech/creative position.
My personal professional campaign has been "Lean Learning". I am creating content for adult learners that are being asked not to just memorize facts but to change a behavior. They have many environmental factors that influence how, when and where they learn. They have busy schedules and many tasks and responsibilities. NO ONE has time for a hour long recorded webinar. My philosophy revolves around one word, "Consumable". My training needs to be thoughtful, relevant, simple, intuitive, to the point, of quality and accessible. For me, Consumable, encompasses all of those things.
